I have to write this essay because I was tardy to my naval science class.
Military bearing is to conduct yourself with dignity and is such a manner to reflect credit upon the naval services. Military bearing exists when this individual is proud of their military service. When you exhibit military bearing you are showing your peers (fellow midshipmen) how to act and giving them an example to follow.   Military bearing is the root in which every service member practices in order to carry out good discipline and ethics throughout ones military careers. Punctuality is a major aspect of military bearing. Without punctuality, one can neither perform properly in the workspace nor be depended upon by their coworkers, or chain of command to carry out their military duties adequately. A military member is required to be punctual, and reliable. Lack of this in a service member not only hinders themselves but the midshipmen that choose to follow them.
Today I will talk about doing the right thing, being in the right place, at the right time. Punctuality is one of the many ways to show professionalism. My goals in the navy are high and in to days navy you have to be perceived as a high speed naval officer. Perception is the key to success, now that I have been tardy to my naval science class my superiors, peers and fellow midshipmen have the right   look down on me. A unprofessional naval officer say things like "I will try to complete my responsibilities Sir." While a professional naval officer make statements like "I will get it done Sir leave it to me." I want to become that professional naval office when my time comes and it start by doing the right thing, being in the right place, at the right time. Punctuality is a necessary habit in all public affairs of a civilized society. Without it, nothing could ever be brought to a conclusion; everything would be in a state of chaos.
