Romeo spots Juliet at the mask ball, from the very first glimpse of each other there was love and affection waving in the air. Romeo was stunned and astonished of her charming looks and beauty. “I seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as rich jewel in an Ethiop’s ear” This quote shows how her beauty catches his attention straight away. This is referring to the way he sees her in his eyes, like a diamond against a dark background will appear much brighter, Juliet is being compared to a star in the sky, a jewel shining. This audience would be feeling excited but also worried from the fear of there being a killing.
