Silent Killer
Accidental poising due to inhaling Carbon Monoxide is a increasing perhaps because of the hasty rate of growth in technology. With all the advance technology aborting our society nowadays, we are still yet to becoming accustomed to cautious and unknown dangers yet to be found. Unfourtunly, it is estimated that around 15,000 hospital visits are related to exposure of Carbon Monoxide and 500 deaths are caused yearly. The misusage of the equipment or lack of toughly reading instructions when dealing with Carbon Monoxide has caused death and at times irreversible mental illnesses.
The furtive exposure of Carbon Monoxide has earned its name of being “the silent killer”, mainly because its flumes are colorless, odorless, and tasteless consumed by it victims . The usage of gas water heaters and paint removers has become common in households, but it has increased the risk of families becoming exposed with this flume. A charcoal grill has the same ability of producing Carbon Monoxide, when being misuse correctly. During horrible hurricane seasons, many citizen are left without electricity and purchase gasoline generators without know that the generators produce Carbon Monoxide   and should be left outside several of them make the mistake of leaving windows open by the generators leave it open for the unwanted flumes to enter the household, often kill them during their sleep. Carbon Monoxide is produced by elevated burning of Carbon. Automobiles releases Carbon Monoxide from its mufflers and sometimes left running in car garages by mistake and trapping the flumes.
This silent killer has been mistaken for the common flu with many of it unconscious victims, primarily because they both share similar symptoms like sever headaches. Toddles and unborn babies are at great risk because of their small size. Along with senior citizen, but people with heart or lung problems are at greater risk if exposed to Carbon Monoxide.
