A).After reading the story of Desiree's Baby, I can say that it was a story about the intensity of prejudice and slavery in earlier times. Accoridng to what I read in the story, in think that Armand didn't know that his mother was from African American descent before he went on to marry Desiree. For example in the story Armand tell her " that the child is not white; it means that you are not white. Also the letter that Armand read from his mother thanking god for arranging their life that Armand will never know that his mother belongs to the race that is cursed with the brand of slavery. That is why I think Armand didn't know that his mother was from African American descent.A). “The Necklace” definitely showed  a memorable image in my mind of Mathilde Loisel. In the beginning it explains how “she had no dowry, no expectations, no means of being know, understood, loved, wedded by any rich and distinguished man". she was one of those women that liked jewelry and dresses but didn't have any of that and was resentful of it. The only thing that made Mathilde happy was when she borrowed a diamond necklace from her friend. It was not into she lost the diamond necklace and worked her husband and her self  to aged in order to replace the diamond necklace. And then found out that the diamond necklace that made her so happy was worthless and fake. To me this was the anecdote of the store.
