Comparison between the movie “Twilight” and the TV series ”The Vampire Diaries”

Twilight is a romantic-fantasy film. It is the first film in The Twilight saga. The movie focuses on the fascinating love between human teenager Bella Swan and the mysterious vampire Edward Cullen. Similar main idea have   the supernatural-fantasy horror television series The Vampire Diaries. The series follows the life of Elena Gilbert, who falls in love with the vampire Stefan Salvatore.
One of the main similarities between them is that both are based on book series of the same names. The way that the human girl finds out about the secret of the male character after much investigation is also pretty similar. Another remarkable similarity is the thirst for blood, which is necessary vampire trait and the extremely long lives of the vampires which we can see in the two movies. In both of the movie the main confrontation is caused by the arrival of another vampire in the town.
Considerable difference is that there is only one vampire in the town at the beginning of the story in”The Vampire Diaries”, where a whole clan is present in Twilight. The central female character in “The Vampire Diaries” is blonde and beautiful, while in "Twilight" she is described as a beauty but a unique one and very intelligent. Marked difference is also that the newly arrived vampire in “The Vampire Diaries” travels alone and eventually falls in love with the heroine. In Twilight, the travelling vampire has some companions and selects the heroine as a target.
There are a lot of differences and similarities between the two movies. "Vampire Diaries" came before "Twilight" but I like the "Twilight" series better. I would definitely recommend watching   both the "Vampire Diaries" and "Twilight" and then come to your own conclusion.
