Favorite Teacher
I was in 1st grade and my teacher was Ms. Ramsey at Ironton elementary, it was 1997 and it was my first day of school. I was really scared and I didn’t know what to do and I didn’t want my mom to leave, but of course she had to. I was in the corner playing by myself and then I heard a real kind voice say why don’t you go and play with the other kids. So I got up sand I went over there and I started playing with the other kids, and she started introducing me to the other kids so I would get comfortable in the class. She was really nice, cared about the kids, and would help if anyone needed it and that is what makes a good teacher.
With her being so nice that made me want to come to school because she wasn’t a mean teacher and she helped me makes friends in the class. Every time we would see her she would come up and give us a hug and ask if we have been having a good day, and that would make us feel really good. If we did something wrong she wouldn’t yell at us or get mad in any way she would try to make us do the right thing.
Caring about the kids is why she was a good teacher; if we would fall down on the playground she would go over and make sure we were alright or if something happened in class she would make sure that we feel better. If they were another kid that was mean to another one she would make the other kid apologize so we would know not to do that, or if we were crying because something happened she would make us feel better by giving us a hug and giving us a bandage.
When we needed help with anything she would make sure that she would help us and show us how to do it so we can learn to do it on our own. If we did something wrong she wouldn’t get mad she would just show us the way to do it right, or if there was anything that was too high for us to reach we would just ask Ms. Ramsey and she would gladly go get it for us.
