Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia is an eating disorder that causes people to obsess about their weight and the food they consume.   This is usually brought on by a false sense of what normal is by the mainstream media. This disease causes several health issues ranging from the thinning of hair to death.  
Anorexia brings on many complications and problems, including anemia, heart problems, bone loss, gastrointestinal problems, and kidney problems. In females it can cause irregularities in their menstrual cycles and the loss of their cycles all together. In males it can decrease their testosterone levels. Death can occur suddenly even if that person isn’t extremely underweight.   If the case is really severe, every organ in the body can be damaged which may not be reversible.
Anorexia can be brought on by many different causes, including biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors.   Some people may be genetically vulnerable to developing anorexia. Young women with a sister or mother with an eating disorder are at higher risk. Some people have anorexia because of psychological reasons. They could have low self-esteem, they could have a drive for perfection, or they could have obsessive-compulsive traits in their personality that makes it easier to stick to a strict diet. Some develop anorexia because of the thin models and actors they see in the media. This could give girls or men a false sense of what perfection is.
The solutions to anorexia range greatly depending on the severity of the disease. Most people will have to go to the doctor regularly, to check up on their vital signs. If the case is severe enough they will put a feeding tube in you so you can get your nutrients. The first goal of treatment is getting back to a healthy weight. Some might require therapy to help fix the mental issues that cause the disease. Unfortunately there is no medication that can treat anorexia; they will give some patients antidepressants to control their mental disorders....
