Plot overview.
King Henry VIII died and power is passed down to   his son Edward VI. Edward was only in power for a while, eventually he diedd   & now power is passed to his eldest daughter Mary, a Catholic. While Mary is in charge she believe the protestants (heretics) should be burned to death & that’s exactly what happens. Mary becomes sick and her half sister Elizabeth (protestant) is who is supposed to be given power next. The problem is that Mary WILL NOT allow a protestant to rule England. A rumor begins that a Protestant is becoming powerful and trying to overthrow the queen, Mary knows that Elizabeth is NOT behind it, but she still she puts Elizabeth in Jail under possible charges of being behind it. Of Course Elizabeth denies all charges, before Mary dies she asks Elizabeth to promise she will rule...
