Disadvantages of Childcare

When dealing with the potential disadvantages for Sullivan University to offer daycare to its students and to house a daycare facility on campus. First we must understand the law that deals with daycares and all the necessary equipment and training that goes along with operating a daycare. One of the disadvantages is that child care centers generally cannot accommodate parents’ late or flexible hours. This is due to having to pay more employees or pay the current employees over time. Normal classes usually start around 7a.m. and goes to 9p.m. so that means that the daycare must be in operation between those hours. This cause for more money and one of the major questions is if these students can afford to pay daycare and their tuition also. Because many students receive some type of reduced tuition, grants, scholarships or subsidized tuition, the school will be forced to charge the normal rate for child care to make a profit. Even though child care has become a booming business in America, due to most homes having to be duel workers just to make it in these trouble times. Although reduced cost could be a deciding factor in whether to offer child care but the university cannot reduce so low that they would not make a profit. Can some of these teenage moms who are trying to return to school, who have already received a reduce tuition and all these other methods to even be able to afford to return or began school. Will these men or women be able to afford daycare at a rate that the university can make a profit or even break even for providing this service. Another part to this financial woe is can the university afford to pay the workers, establish a facility that meets the Government standard and keep it without going over its already stretched budget. I know what some might say and that it should produce a profit but how long does it take for a new business to produce a profit?
