Support of Current Foreign Immersion Programs

Language, a fundamental part of all children’s communication, makes sure that a child is able to speak properly to another and increases working over seas. Presently, the foreign language immersion programs held by the Fairfax County public schools meet these requirements. Students say that these programs help them improve their oral skills and prepared them very well for college. The foreign language immersion programs should be kept due to the fact that they help various students gain the ability to speak properly to another person, provide jobs to teachers, and give children a chance for bilingualism.
If Superintendant Jack Dale were to keep the foreign language immersion programs, it would only affect the budget slightly because of school fundraisers and government finances. The school would not profit from cutting the programs because they would lose some of their students to other schools, resulting in lower government funds.
Parents also benefit from the foreign language immersion programs because they do not have to spend their time teaching their child a foreign language and culture, if capable. They have high expectations of their child learning the foreign language so they will be able to communicate with another person who knows that language or even immigrate there for economic prosperity or other reasons. Also, students like myself think of their parents being more lenient than the teachers, strict instructors who make sure one does his or her homework. These types of students, if taught by their parents, would not learn as much as if they were taught by a school professor, and would not complete the assignments assigned from their parents. In my experience, having done foreign language immersion programs for a long time, I believe that it has truly helped with my language more than a computer device, or my parents could have.
