Why Do I Want to Win a Beuty Paegent?

Ms. Uttarakhand, as the name in itself speaks out is the hunt to pick out the new face with the right persona to represent our state of   Uttarakhand. It cannot be denied that this event is a door to fame and probably a headstart to a successful career for the winner. However, I have other motives in my mind also apart from becoming popular and successful. If selected as the new   21st century face of Uttarakhand, I would like to bring out the major problems faced by our state to the forefront. Female Feoticide , the act of aborting a fetus because it is female is one of them. Sex ratio has been deteriorating even in suburban areas of our state.It is the need of the hour to sensitise those who are living in the fringe areas of Uttarakhand.
Being a girl myself ,I   aim to sensitise the masses about the ill effects of female foeticide and to improve the sex ratio of Uttarakhand. I want to make people realize that they are killing the forebearers of this world,because of whom they   themselves exist. Female feticide has also led to an increase in human trafficking. Female Feoticide is a 'heinous crime' equivalent to a murder.

Gradually, I would like to spread this drive to other states like Harayana as well.

I would like to throw some light on another problem faced by our state. Himalayas are the identity of Uttarakhand. Approximately 8.5 million people live in the Himalayas mountainous state. The subject matter of Health of the People living in these regions is not being given the importance it deserves. The people in the hills are very poor and it is very difficult for them to afford the modern health care facilities. There is no denying the fact that the wealth of a country depends on the health of its citizen.

I would like to draw attention of our Government and state NGO's in this direction.
