1. Write about an occasion when you lost a large sum of money entrusted to you for safe keeping.

“I hope you understand how important this money is to me,” said Lisbeth.
“I’ll be back in a week,” she continued.
“Don’t worry, your money’s in safe hands,” I replied. If only I knew how wrong I would be.

We parted ways with me taking along the large envelope filled with money. The amount of money present could easily pay for a first class air ticket to New York. It felt strange to be holding a large sum of money in my hands. I held it tightly against me, making sure nothing happens to it. If only I was as careful later on.

I hailed a taxi to take me home.   I thought of the many possible reasons why my twin sister, Lisbeth, had wanted me to take care of her money. The most important question was why she needed a large amount of money in the first place. Why did she have to go away for a week? Where was her destination? Was she in trouble? I knew her for 23 years and yet the only thing we had in common was our birthday. She was a secretive person and I knew nothing about her life outside of our home. We were never close, only speaking to each other out of politeness.   That is why when she had asked me for help, I was quite shock to be her first option.

The taxi driver dropped me off and I headed to our house. Little did I know, I had forgotten to take the envelope along with me. When I got home, I went to sleep immediately. The thought of the envelope never crossed my mind.

When I woke up in the morning, I checked my bag for the envelope. It was not there. I started to panic and searched frantically for it. Fear and guilt filled my insides.

“Think, Camilla, think!” I thought to myself. I retraced my steps and realized soon enough that I left it in the taxi. I instantly called the taxi company while praying that they have got the envelope. There were no findings of any sort of envelope. Obviously, the driver saw the envelope and took the money....
