Are you a college student who is trying to learn how to write a good essay? Many college students have a hard time writing a good essay. It is a complicated process to write an essay that will satisfy your professor. To write a good essay, you need to come up with a n interesting topic. As you choosing the topic, you need to think about purpose of the essay and the audience. It is also important to organize your ideas by making an outline. Making an outline allows you easily see general ideas and thesis statement that includes supporting details. After creating an outline, you are ready to write a first draft. It is important to write a first draft before a final copy. Each essay has an introductory, body, and conclusion paragraph.
First, you start your essay with introduction. An introduction should attract reader’s attention. Also, it is important to give the audience an idea of the essay’s purpose. You may also begin with an attention grabber. To grab reader’s attention, you may use a “hook” question, statistics, or an anecdote. Your thesis statement is always at the end of the introduction.
Second, your essay needs to have body paragraphs. Each body paragraph explains and describes one of your main ideas. Also, it should contain supporting points for that main idea. Supporting points are followed by supporting details. It is important to provide evidents, examples and arguments. Each body paragraph should be focused on a single idea of your thesis.
Final paragraph it is a conclusion. Conclusion paragraph it is always the last paragraph of your essay, which provides a summary of your min ideas. Topic sentence of your final paragraph it is usually your thesis statement. Conclusion paragraph always restates thesis. This paragraph should point out any unanswered questions and unsettled points. Your conclusion paragraph makes final impression on your audience about your writing.
