People have been trying to predict the future for a long time, and the future keeps surprising us. In the 1950's it was widely predicted that by the 21st century we would all be travelling in flying cars, which has not happened and is not likely to happen. No one predicted the computer revolution which makes possible this very web-site. There is no way to know what kind of technology will change our lives in the future or how our lives will change.
