STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I believe that it is an incontrovertible right for any human being to be provided with facilities and opportunities when he has the ability and interest. My intelligence with capability of working hard helped me to be successful in progressing toward my objectives. In order to continue in this direction and to face new opportunities, I am enthusiastically applying to the University of Toronto for the PhD program. I intend to pursue graduate studies for Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, especially, in the fields of Power Electronics and Power Systems.
My purpose for the Ph.D. program is to both expand my knowledge in the field of Power Systems and create additional opportunities for myself in the future. I believe that power electonics, power system and optimization methods are going to shape the industry in the future. I also believe that graduate study will serve in giving me direction towards my career as a research professional at a research oriented organization and will help me to become an excellent expert in Power Systems Industry as well.
Smart problem –solving has always been a source of great fun to me. Mathematics and Physics were my favorite subjects in school. As a token of appreciation for my activities in both mathematics and physics, I was awarded scholarships during my high school days at Nemone High School, Amol. In view of the fact that I was top ranked student during all high school levels, I was one of the students who were selected for final domestic stage in Mathematics and Physics Olympiads in my province, Mazandaran.
After entering the university, I found many challenging areas in power systems. So I decided to experience researches in various fields of interest. Finally, my Algorithmic thinking dragged me to power electronics. Many software like Pspice, Step7 Siemens PLC and programming languages like C++, power world and matlab(both simulink and mfile) are results of my interest.
