Dear: VBPS Board
This letter is to formally complain about the harassment I have received from a teacher at Princess Anne High school. I have not only been humiliated in front of a whole class of my peers, but the state of my wellbeing was threatened as well. Never the less, I was verbally abused and bullied by someone who I am supposed to respect and give all my undivided attention to.
One of the many advantages of being a student at PAHS is the privilege of having a 20 minute break. A unique time period of 20 minutes between 3rd and 4th block giving students a chance to socialize with peers and have a break from classes. During this time on October 2, 2012 my friend, Hayley Fernandez, walked into a Shared class room With Mrs. Jackson and Ms. Augustine. I was dropping off my books for a fourth block class and Hayley was simply getting her makeup work from Ms. Jackson as she did not get the opportunity to get it during the designated class period. When Hayley asked Ms. Jackson for the makeup work Ms. Jackson chuckled and said “you are never in this class”. Joining in I then said “yea Hayley”. Suddenly the teacher I had never seen in my life rudely points at me and shouts “and you! Next time I see you walking down the street smoking I’m going to pull over and beat you myself, with your skanky little skirts. Yea, I saw that skirt.” Shocked I immediately returned to the school office to report Ms. Jackson and her false allegations.
As we all know bullying is one of the main concerns in public schools across the nation. Approximately 1 out of every 4 teens are bullied and receive harassment at school and, or online. 160,000 U.S. students stay home from school every day in fear of receiving this kind of poor treatment.
