  1. Describe several unique characteristics about Google and its business practices.

Gives away products to promote itself. It also targets the main interests of people. Google only pays sites that post up ads for them only when people look at the advertisements.

  2. What is Google’s philosophy about advertising?   How can less advertising be preferred to more advertising?

Advertise directly to the customers that are interested in their product.   Less advertising can be better because it saves ad costs in order to promote more efficient advertising, advertising where it counts.

  3. Describe the types of online advertising available today.   Which type of advertising does Google currently dominate? Why?

Pay per click, video, pop-ups, and banner ads are the types of advertisements encountered online.   Pay per click is when there is an ad in part of a page and the advertiser gets paid for the number of clicks the ad receives.   Videos and pop-ups come up in new windows when you click an online link.   Banner ads are banners at the top of other websites that consist of an ad.   Google dominate the pay per click advertisement because that’s the type of advertisement that matches Google’s philosophy to advertise less.

  4. How can Google be successful in the display advertising business?   What other areas of growth are likely to be pursued by Google in the future?

Google can be very successful in display advertisement because of its ability to synchronize this advertisement with its online advertisement.   Another area that can be very promising for Google is the mobile telephone advertising.
