ANGER

4 Wrath is cruel, anger is overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?
Proverbs 27; 4

26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil.
Ephesians 4;   26; 31

31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
Ephesians 4;   26; 31

We are all familiar with anger. All of us have been   angry at one time or the other and also seen others when they were angry. Anger is a reaction to something which is undesireable, against our interests or expectations. We may be angry at some person or a situation. Anger disturbs our thoughts, we become violent and are prone to make   decisions or take actions which we would avoid under normal circumstances. This could sometimes be a good side of the anger. Because of our anger we sometimes do something which was necessary but we were somehow trying to avoid it   and now out of anger we find strength to make those decision or take that step. However the anger in itself   is a negative emotion which we need to understand and overcome.

Anger is often an expression of helplessness. Anger is a result of ignorance, or lack of self-control. A wise man has knowledge, he also has more understanding, he also sees the matter from other aspects, he also looks for other alternatives and therefore he does not get angry so easily. Praised be the person who has control on his anger and is not upset so easily or over minor things.

There are also people who have a habit of getting angry. They can be angry at anything and many a times they are angry even without a reason. They are difficult people and it is not easy to live or work with them, but they themselves suffer most as a resut of their anger. They usually pay a high price for their anger in form of bad health, bad relations with other people. They are mostly unhappy people, difficult to please and it is not comfortable to be with them.
