English Assignment
A diary of the future events of Benedick and Beatrice from Benedick’s perspective.
Day 1
Without a doubt the greatest feeling in the world is waking up beside my lover Beatrice, actually scratch that, the events the night before take the prize if you know what I mean. Beatrice isn’t very happy with the way I’ve acted, basically I’ve been a dick, then again I am called Benedick for a reason. I’m unsure of how I feel about getting married in 2 days, I’m pretty sure my proposal was only so because of how stubborn Beatrice is. I do love her but I can’t help but feel as though everything is moving too quickly for my liking, not so long ago I was certain that I would never be bound to something, let alone a woman.
You have no idea how difficult it is to display emotion in a relationship built out of stubbornness and self righteousness, it’s like getting blood from a stone. We decided to have some fun, so we went to the zoo last Tuesday, the name of the zoo I’m not sure. I think it was something to do with animals. So, as we were trying to enjoy each others company (something that we’re still trying to get the hang of) I could see Beatrice chuckling to herself over the parrots, I knew straight away she was thinking of when I called her a ‘rare parrot- teacher’ I just laughed with her and smiled but I’m not sure of whether she was really laughing or just masking another emotion that she didn’t want me to see. My doubt is just increasing day by day.
Day 2
One day until the wedding, at the moment all I’m doing is writing down a list of all of the things I want to happen in the future after I sell my soul… I won’t need a job because of my good looks and charm so I will be gifted the majority of these: A nice car, huge house, a few slaves(I mean servants, of course) and to wake beside a woman, maybe Beatrice,   by my side and a ready made meal. That’s not too much to ask for is it?
Beatrice is rushing about all over the place, I know women are supposed to...
