Personal Reflection on Skills Demonstration
Brief 2 &3

As part of our Customer Service Module, students were required to create a ten slide presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint. Our task was to make a presentation as a group to our manager on making written information more assessable to customers with sight loss. The criteria were to include three recommendations and to outline the role of each member in the team.
Our Tutor, Laura, divided the class into groups of four and each team was given a letter to differentiate the team. From then on we were known as Team D.   I had known my colleagues from the class but not on first name terms so we introduced ourselves and chatted about our brief and in particular how we would approach it. Some members of the team were familiar with PowerPoint and others were good at research. We pooled our talents and exchanged our e-mail address with one another and arranged to meet the following Tuesday. It was a great way to meet and discuss things with other students.

The following week we looked at the personal strengths of each team member, and from that we decided on the role for each individual within the team. We discussed and agreed on the type of business we would research and came up with some ideas. I particularly enjoyed this aspect of the project as we got on very well and I felt it was useful in the team getting to know each other and experiencing some lighter and enjoyable moments. We agreed as a team that we would all participate in the presentation   and decided on the layout of the slides, it was decided that I would introduce the presentation and look at the statistics, Shane would speak about the recommendations and use of braille, Geraldine would discuss the benefits of magnification and the smartphone app, and Alan would discuss the benefits to the customer and how the company image could be improved by introducing our...
