Coming into this class I knew it was going to be challenging for me. I took a philosophy class before when I was in junior college it was Intro to Philosophy and I really struggled I did pass the class but it made me think a lot. So coming into this class I knew I would have to try my hardest because philosophy is not an easy subject for me. After taking the “Critical Thinking Quiz” I felt pretty confident about myself but after doing some of the assignments I pretty much lacked a little. Some of the questions on the quiz were a little challenging I would have to say. After watching the videos the one that stood out to me was the one with Cornel West when he examined life. He said some things in that video that I really didn’t think about and was interesting. He explains that courage is one of the biggest things for a philosopher and human beings. He explains how to learn to die; you can’t live the truth until you learn how to die. But how do we learn how to die when it only happens once and we won’t know what happens after that. I believe this whole course will be about the mind and thinking and also making the right decisions. My goals for changing my critical thinking is to actually let it sink in before speaking out and to actually think about it and think like a philosopher but the best thing is also to give my own opinion on what I think is right.
