In the year 1271 Marco Polo began his journey with his father and uncle to reach the unknown lands of Asia. This journey was to start in Venice, Italy and their goal was to reach Asia. After three long years of traveling they had finally reached China. The distance between Venice and China is approximately four thousand ninety two miles. What took them three years to complete their journey now will take ten hours with a direct flight. All this is possible because of what we call today Globalization.   Without the beginning steps from Marco Polo the world would not be the same as we see it today. But what Marco Polo really did was help create one of the most powerful tools that is able to unite every country on this planet. With Globalization we have numerous tools to help create a better future for the generations to come.
But what is Globalization?   Based on the article “ Views on The Process of Globalization and its Effects on Human Beings by Oana Galateanu“ Globalization is the term used currently to describe those changes recorded in companies of world’s economy, changes arising from the large increase of international trade and exchanges taking place(Galateanu). Which basically means that Globalization is mainly understood as the entire planet is under one economy which is “Globalization”. There is no universal definition that explains Globalization the same way all around the world. But Globalization is just more than the world’s economy it is more complex. There are many aspects to Globalization, each different aspects can be used all over the world.   Globalization is a series of social, economic, technological, cultural, and political changes that promote interdependence and growth. Globalization raises the standard of living in developing countries, spreads technological knowledge, and increases political liberation (Harris). Globalization is the new international system. (Friedman)
