I started my first day of college by waking up bright and early which was very unusual for me especially after having my three months of holiday break after the SPM examination. I always had trouble waking up very early in the morning. It was my first day of college so I wanted to start my day fresh. Before going to class, I had a cup of coffee and a slice of bread to fill my stomach. I moved into the hostel which was located opposite my college 3 days before class commences. My roommates brought me to have a look around college so that I would be more familiar to the surroundings. I had mixed feelings at that time.I was feeling very excited and nervous at the same time on the first day of college. I wanted to look formal and smart on the first day of college so I wore a long-sleeved blue shirt, long pants and shoes.

College is very different from high school. There was so much of fear and anxiety in me before entering college. I was afraid that I couldn’t adapt myself to college life as I have been studying in school for 11 years. I was also afraid that I wouldn’t be able to make friends in college. One of the huge differences between college and high school life is freedom. College students are free to choose what to wear to college and hand phones are also allowed in college. The rules in high school are highly restricted compared to college. Entering college is like entering a whole new world where no one knows who I am and I also feel different from the rest. Fortunately, I made some friends during the orientation and I was lucky to know that they were going to be my course mates throughout my whole first semester. I went up to class very early so that I could get a good seat in the first row. Another difference between college and high school is each classes in college lasts for two hours and we have 10 minutes break in between.

My first class started with an ice-breaking session where we could get to know one...
