Working as a Server
Working as a server is very stressful. Why? My answer to this would be that I have to deal with all kinds of people during my shift. Some people think that I owe the world to them and they bring their problem to me, they take their anger out on me! That’s not fair! Why? Because I just met them and they treat me like crap. No! Not Good! People don’t really understand that servers have feelings, too. I know it’s my job, but please, isn’t it easier if you talk nice?
Me personally, I love being a server. Why? Because I’m very sociable, I love meeting people all the time. I don’t do it just because of the money. Money isn’t always the most important factor.   Money makes things easier, but what’s the point of working if you don’t enjoy doing what you do?
I remember when I first started; I was so happy and excited that I was going to be able to serve people. What really motivated me the most was this lady, who walk in and she was alone and ask to be seated in my section. She was very quiet, not picky it all, she order the simplest meal! But what really impress me was that she wanted to be seated in my section.so I decide to ask her why? She said; because last week you made my day! I was shock. How come I ask her? She said; you were very kind and polite, you weren’t just doing it because you have to. You were enjoying yourself. She said this to me, that really made me realize that she really like my service. This is what she said: I saw that you had an argument with the customer next to me, but you didn’t let that bring you down, you gave me an awesome service and I’m very thankful and I really appreciated It.!
I was like ‘wow’. I didn’t know what to say to her, I was in shock and very impress by this. But what’s really amazing about this is, that we don’t realize how much impact things have, doesn’t matter whether it’s big or small, it’s amazing how much influence we have.
