Video Games: Good or Bad for Youth
    It starts off so innocent. You wait in line with your child, he’s/she’s so excited to get this new gaming console, a gaming device that you are paying over 400$ on. I bet you’re just as excited as they are right? You wait in line and finally get to the counter, now you got the gaming device, but here comes the part where it get tricky. Your child is asking for a game that is rated M for mature. The salesperson begins to explain to you why it’s rated M. Your eyes widen as he begins to read them out, your kid is begging you, telling you it’s not that bad, it’s just a few scenes. Now what you do at this point, is what makes video games a bad thing. If you say yes, you are buying a game meant for older kids to play, for your child who should bot play it. If you say no, your child will be upset. Which seems more likely to happen? You buy it. Well in most cases. So is it, the developer’s fault you said yes and your child is now playing a game full of sex and killing? Or is it yours, the cool parent who allowed them to play it? To play in that further, does that really make the game bad for the world? Should it be banned all because a parent did not show much concern at the counter?
    In an article written by “Schaffer, Amanda” entitled "Violent Video Games Are Linked to Real-World Violence.” She makes the assumption that according to her research, that there are links between video game violence, and real world violence. None proven, but there has been studies on the subject. The results of these studies show that there is indeed truth behind the assumption, but not enough to actually make the statement proven. We are interesting creatures, meaning we are all different. So not everyone will react to video games the way one person does. There are some pretty bad games out there, but most humans… Can tell the difference between fiction and real life. But what about those...
