Importance of Trees
Trees grow throughout the world from hot topical region to extreme cold region around the equator. They grow both in good soil and poor soil. They also grow in desert, swamps, along shores and at the mountain elevation of several thousand feet. Trees may grow singly but under some natural conditions they often grow in stand consists of one species or of a mixture of species. Trees are of different heights and widths. Some trees have tendency to grow taller and some have shorter. Some have thin and some have thick branches. Although some trees grow by bending downward and some grow straight upward. Different trees have their different characteristics, benefits and uses also. Trees provided many benefits not only to us but to other natural creations. Trees have many ecological functions. The most important ecological function of trees is to protect the land against erosion.
