                                                                Moral development
          Piaget was an author who used the technique of giving narrations based on character dilemma. Inspired by this, Lawrence Kohlberg went a step further with this. He gave stories that presented a choice to be considered. Lawrence used various stories, formulated queries from them so as to use in his research of how reasoning differs with age. (Kohlberg, 2011)

In this given situation, a young child who is nine years or below will leave the wallet behind. This is according to the theory in that children of such an age ought to behave well and be obedient lest they are punished by the older people. Therefore, the child will fear carrying the wallet which does not belong to him or her to avoid getting punished for such a mistake. On the other hand, another child will be forced to carry the wallet if that is what the elders require him or her to do in such a situation, all in a bid to avoid the punishment of disobedience. (Kohlberg, 2011)

For an older child, according to the theory, his or her way of thinking and the kind of decisions made depends on the rules of the group of belonging. Therefore if this adolescent belongs to a teenage group that takes such situations as a way of getting free and easy money for spending, then he or she has no choice but to carry the wallet so as to belong. On the other hand, this theory also says that for this age bracket, one’s decisions should be according to the way of the society to avoid guilt. Therefore the same adolescent would decide to leave the wallet to avoid the guilt of being a thief. (Kohlberg, 2011)

The last party in this situation judges the situation based on own way of behaving but again keeping in mind the global principles. That is he or she should be ready to fight for the rights of other people. Moreover, one ought to see to it...
