She sat on the cold plastic chair. Slipped her feet underneath and laid her hands on her lap.
As she listened to her surroundings. Footsteps passing by the closed blue lined curtain. the faint noise of rustling newspapers. A chair dragging across the clinically clean floor making a similar noise to fingernails on a blackboard. The steady beeping of the machines working. At the end of corridor were a group of nurses chatting amongst themselves.
The nearby noises of the background was all too familiar. Lea Manning was a regular here at Blackpool Victoria hospital. Lea was 26 years old and had been in and out of this hospital ever since she met her partner Max White. She was 22 when she met max they were both instantly attracted to one another. They happened to meet at a friend’s party. Max was big and stocky, piercing blue eyes with dark skin and light brown wispy hair.
The first few months was great they fell in love fast and hard, they were never apart. Loves young dream. It didn’t take long for him to have complete control of her. Lea was physically and mentally abused. Yet she would always go back to him.
Lea slowly and carefully raised herself out of the chair. Clutching at her ribs and letting out a sigh of pain. She limped over to the small window at the side of her bed. It was dark outside. Lea looked at her reflection in the glass window. What she saw was not the young picturesque poised optimistic women. Who could light up a room with her smile, she had long dark, thick and glosses hair, big beautiful brown eyes and olive skinned that would shimmer in sun light.
Now all she saw was a nervous, fearful broken woman torn down by life. The image looking back at her was unrealizable. Her eyes was black and blue filling up with tears, bust lips with dryad blood around her lips and cheeks. Her hair was now dull, dry, thin, and wispy. Leas face was now pail and sunken in.
