As a pharmacy student, understand about our body health management is very important in our future career. It is because you need to well manage our body health and that only can counsel other people how to manage their health. So, I think I gain quite a lot of knownledge about managing our health in this personal health management module which is taught by my competent lecturer Ms Wang. I am very thankful that I was given the opportunity to take this module which is provided me with a deeper understanding about the knowledge of health and how to use it in my daily life. After went through this module, I realize that it help me to gain more knowlegde about health for example in this module we learned about variety of different factors of health such as the importance of vitamins and minerals that is needed for our body to function properly, sexual and reproductive health, oral hygiene, communicable disease and many more.
During this module, we are divided into group and was given a specific topic to research on. After we reseach on this topic, we have to present it in our class. My group have the opportunity to study on AIDS. During the research of this topic, I think I gain quite a lot of knowledge about AIDS. I know a lot of things that before before this I do not know. What is AIDS? AIDS actually is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome which is caused by HIV. AIDS is the final stage of HIV infection, when the body can no longer fight life-threatening infections. With early diagnosis and effective treatment, most people with HIV will not go on to develop AIDS. HIV is a virus that gradually attacks immune system cells. As HIV progressively damages these cells, the body becomes more vulnerable to infection, which it will have difficulty in fighting off (Avert.org, 2015).
