Laurels is a highly recognized academic honorary club.   Ever since I was a freshman, part of my goals were to be part of this club regardless of any circumstances.   I was dead set to put my money where my mouth is.   And sure enough I am and was in that process.   I applied once but unfortunately did not make it.   This is my second time trying out.   Despite the fact that I was not initiated on my first try, that did not deprive my pride at all, but instead I am even more determined.   The reason being why I want to contribute to this club is because not only by far for its superior recognition, but I want to be part of this commodity.   My older sister was part of this club and I will do anything to carry on this tradition.

I want to take part with community service; I want to be able to assist with any problems that the students are encountering in school because I have an obvious and sincere concern for others, and last but not least I want to build my self-confidence as well as self-morality through this association.   Being myself, I can assure you that I have the potentials and qualities to be qualified for this club.   I am an independent self-starter.   I have no trouble working in groups, or interacting with others.   I am mature and personable.   I also have interest outside of academics.   I have been an active member of the Bike and Hike club, Math club, Sophomore and Junior club, and as well as the CSF club.   My personality and skills that I have acquired are my highest potentials.   With that, I strongly believe that I am qualified to take part in this honorary club.

Encouraging voices ring in my ears as I recollect freshman year.   Community service is to do volunteer work, which benefits the community as I have heard form the teachers, faculty members and also from certain clubs.   Packed with these inspirational words from all these individuals “get involved!”   All these individuals and organization encouraged me to become involved in both...
