Prince Hamlet is a fictional character, the protagonist in Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. He is the Prince of Denmark, nephew to Claudius and son of the previous King of Denmark, Old Hamlet. Throughout the play Hamlet stresses with whether, and how, to avenge the murder of his father, and fights with his own sanity along the way.
From the moment we meet Hamlet we are captivated by his actions and way of thinking. He is a man of disagreements; he is reckless yet cautious, courteous yet uncivil, tender yet ferocious. He realizes that the ghost could be just an illusion of his father sent to make him do evil, so he devises a plan to prove to himself if the ghost is good or not, and to find out more about the possibility of Claudius being the prime suspect for Old Hamlet’s death.
Even without Shakespeare giving the reader a description of Hamlet's...
