The Fab Four
“I Want to Hold Your Hand, Hey Jude, and I Am the Walrus,” all some of America’s favorite rock and roll songs. None of these songs would be possible without the musical abilities of John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey). The group effort of The Beatles led them to their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 1988, but that isn’t anywhere near where they started. (The Beatles)
John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were known as The Beatles. John Lennon born October 9th, 1940, was the most outspoken and daring member of The Beatles. He got his first guitar in 1956, when his mother told him “The Guitars all very well as a hobby, John, but you’ll never make a living out of it.” Little did she know that he would become one of the world’s greatest Rock and Roll legends. George Harrison born February 24th 1943 was the quietest of The Beatles, joining John Lennon and Paul McCartney as a member of the Quarrymen when he was fifteen years old. He was never really a fan of all of the fame and was the first to go solo after The Beatles separated. He had a total of eleven solo albums and started his own record album, Dark Horse Records, in 1975. (The Beatles)
Paul McCartney born June 18th 1942, was the most prolific, and enjoyed the greatest commercial success. Paul has written or co-written fifty top ten singles. He is considered the most successful pop-music composer, and the second greatest hit-maker behind Elvis Presley. Ringo Starr, born Richard Starkey on July 7th 1940, replaced Pete Best as the drummer for The Beatles. The Beatles fans weren’t very happy with the replacement and, in the beginning, would chant “Pete Forever, Ringo Never!” Ringo was also a big fan of acting, and starred in A Hard Day’s Night in 1964, as well as Help!in 1965. He started his own television series in 1978 called Ringo. (The Beatles)...
