Why Are There Different Baptism Practices?

There are many different baptism practises such as; Catholic Baptism, C OF E baptism, Jehovah’s Witness Baptism & believers baptism, but why?
In a catholic baptism the service normally takes place during a Sunday service so the young child can be welcomed into the church community. During the ceremony, the parents and godparents will be directed to gather at front of church around the font with the child. They will then be asked to make declarations or promises on behalf of the child that they believe in God and will bring the child up to follow Jesus.
The child is held at the font and Holy watered is marked on the child’s in the shape of a cross. It signifies the child is free of sin. The congregation of the church then welcome then welcome the child into the church and candles may be held by the parent / god parents. Prayers sometimes are said. The two parents of the child will choose God parents. These God Parents must guide the child through their life teaching them the Catholic ways and play and important role in their upbringing and their Religious up bringing. The families do all these things to welcome their child into a good, God loving life. It gives the child guidance and hope and sets their child off with a good start to a Catholic life.
In a church of England baptism the same things take place as a catholic baptism, but there are some differences. In a C OF E baptism a child has water poured over its head and not marked in a cross shape.
However, in a believers baptism, there are many differences some big some little.
A believers baptism is when an Adult is baptised. They are baptised by being fully immersed in water. This process will take place in a baptistery or some people may choose to have it done outside in a River, lake etc. To have a believers baptism, you must be an adult.
