Evidence that this book takes place during the time period is that they use bindles. Bindles are used by travelling people who don’t want to carry around to many belongings, since George and Lennie are looking for jobs and travelling around America they take bindles around with them for easy travelling. An example of them using bindles is when Steinbeck first introduces the characters ‘’…both carried tight blanket rolls slung over their shoulders.’’ Pg 2.
