Lija
      I attended a concert at “Borders Books and Music,” in Springfield, Missouri in the Primrose Shopping Center on North Glenstone. The concert was on April 30, 2010 at 7:00pm. The artist that was performing in the concert was, Lija. The concert was a part of a program for Queen City Shout Concert series.
      All of this performer’s song was accompanied by the acoustics of an un-amplified guitar. This performance was a great example for chapter five where we learned about acoustics and we learned about the different sounds of tones and pitches. The tones of the exact pitch register, duration, and amplitude are different for each instrument.
      The first piece was very good it was pleasing and a gentle song about emotions. This song had a great melody. The accompaniment of the guitar gave great chords with the song. This song reminded me of example #1-30 from chapter four because they both share great harmony and chords. This song made me feel relaxed and gentle. I closed my eyes and listened to the lyrics and beats of the song and swayed to the rhythm.
      The second piece was title “16 Miles from the Promise Land.” This song was a great example of repetition and patterning like we learned from chapter six. Chord progression is very predominating in this piece. There was a lot of repetition in this song, which made it very appealing to listen to because it was so catchy with the repeated tune. I could really picture a good visual image of this song. I could see the people on there way to the promise land with their hands stretched high. I could visualize what the land looked like on the way there. I could close my eyes and picture what she was singing in my mind very easily because her voice was so enjoyable to listen to that I was very intrigued with the lyrics of the gentle song.
      I really enjoyed the third song. This piece reminded me of chapter eight from our text book. This reminded me of the part where we learned about keeping tal....
