Amino Acids

There are 22 amino acids in total and each one has a different purpose and fills a particular need in the body. They are placed into 2 different categories essential and nonessential.
There are 8 essential amino acids and they are essential because they are not produced in the body so they have to be obtained from an outside source (food, supplements, etc.).
There are 14 Non-essential Amino Acids. These amino acids are produced in the body making it un-essential that we consume them in foods.
8 Essential Amino Acids:
It is essential we eat these foods to acquire these amino acids.
Isoleucine is contained in egg whites, quinoa, and meat sources.
Leucine is contained in raw seaweed, spirulina, eggs, quinoa, and meat sources.
Lysine is contained eggs, quinoa, and meat sources (particularly chicken).
Methionine is contained in eggs, quinoa, meat sources (particularly fish).
Phenylalanine is contained in eggs, quinoa, meat sources (beef).
Threonine is contained in eggs, quinoa, meat sources and some vegetables such as watercress.
Tryptophan is contained in eggs, quinoa, meat sources and some vegetables such as spinach.
Valine is contained in eggs, quinoa, and meat sources like tuna.

Non-Essential Amino Acids;
Some foods contain these although we do not have to consume them.
Alanine is contained in skinless turkey.
Arginine is contained in pumpkin seeds.
Asparagine is contained in cooked beef.
Aspartic acid is contained in lean ground beef.
Cysteine is contained in yogurt.
Cystine is contained in seafood such as clams.
Glutamine is contained in fish.
Glutamic acid is contained in; light tuna.
Glycine is contained in mozzarella cheese.
Histidine is contained in lean ground beef.
Hydroxyproline is contained in cooked spaghetti.
Proline is contained in Romano cheese.
Tyrosine is contained in gruyere cheese.
Serine is contained in; soybeans.
