This report is based on an international company. Zambia is among the countries that depend on global economy in order for business to survive it is evident that organisation luck relentless search of initiative that may create competitive advantage which is demonstrated by decoded into the performances of the company. Thus this report is about finding better ways on how learning or development function should be conducted and how these plays a huge role to the organisation.
Lusaka Intercontinental Hotel is one of the 5 stars hotels in Zambia which is situated in the capital city of Zambia. Since it was established, intercontinental was said to be the best of the hotels in Zambia with highest customers review. Recently, the organisation has dramatically dropped its customer review from 99% to 67% compared to Pamodzi hotel with 83% and Ridgway hotel having the highest review with 84 %( Booking.com/Lusaka-Hotels‎), this could be due to many factors, for example during the recent recession the economy is still unstable which has left a lot of people to leave their jobs, however these changes has left the employers to be careful when choosing the right person for the job and they can only do that through adopting the learning development strategy of the organisation.
Lusaka international hotel has many staffs of which each have different key responsibilities such as the receptionist, house keeper, and concierge and room service delivery. These people are the ones that need training intervention and development in order for the trainee to achieve them. However, intercontinental focuses mainly on the following:
Behaviour modelling T & D methods where members of staff learn through seeing others such as handling complaints or resisting to change just to mention a few, the company also uses Twittering methods where competent staffs are chosen...
