In mining, a jaw crusher is used to reduce large rocks into smaller pieces of rock, like gravel. A jaw crusher is usually the first part of a system of several crushing machines that break down the material into the desired shape and size. Large rocks are inserted into the mouth of the crushing chamber, where hydraulic pressure is applied to the material to crush it into a roughly uniform smaller size. There are essentially two types of jaw crushers: overhead eccentric and double-toggle. Each type of jaw crusher uses a different method to power the crushing chamber of the jaw crushing unit.

Features and benefits:

1.Simple structure, easy maintenance, reliable performance, low operation cost and large crushing ratio.

2.Deep crushing cavity with no dead area, which improves the feeding capacity and output.

3.Large crushing ratio and even product size.

4.Gasket-type adjustable discharge opening—reliable and convenient, and its big adjusting range ensures the flexibility.

5.Reliable lubrication system, convenient spare part replacement and easy maintenance.

6.Energy-saving: the stand-alone can reduce the energy consumption by 15-30% while the whole system can save energy by double.

7.Large discharge open range, which can meet different customers' requirements.

8.Low noise and dust pollution.

A Fote jaw crusher is one of the main types of primary crushers in a mine or ore processing plant. The size of a jaw crusher is designated by the rectangular or square opening at the top of the jaws (feed opening). For instance, a 24 x 36 jaw crusher has a opening of 24″ by 36″. Primary jaw crushers are typically of the square opening design, and secondary jaw crushers are of the rectangular opening design. However, there are many exceptions to this general rule. A jaw crusher reduces large size rocks or ore by placing the rock into compression.
