JOB INTERVIEW FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Interviewer   : Did you get here easily?
Candidate       : Yes of course. It took me just about 15 minutes. It was an easy drive.
Interviewer   : Tell me about yourself.
Candidate       : I hold an engineering degreein software development from Karnataka
University Dharwad. I have been living in Australia since I took a job as software engineer
with Cambridge Parteners, Inc in 2002. I was responsible for creating and maintaining
databases for a clientele of 250   companies in various industries. I have contacted clients,
set up database ystems for trail versions untill the company was fully capable of running the
system, fixed the system bugs, modified the interface to the specifications
of user characteristics. I reported to the technical manager and area manger. I learned a lot
in this position. I was considered creative, resourceful and hardworking by my superiors. I
always used to keep my customers motivated by devising uniqye incentives. Keeping   customers
satisfied got me numerous company bonuses and awards.
Interviewer   : Why did you leave this position ?
    Suggestion : have a clear positive approach. an interview is not an occasion to dish the
dirt on your previous employer.
Candidate       :   Now that this position has been eliminated and I was offered another position in
tne same field but in New Zealand. Because of personal resons I am unable to relocate. So am
looking for a new position. Mean time it seems the company was just too traditional for my
innovative personality.
Interviewer   : What are your goals for your career ?
Candidate       : I want to secure a software engineer position with a company that concentrates
solely on digital data systems development. Ideally, I would like to work for a young , company
such as yours, so I can get in on the ground floor and take take advantage of all opportunities
a growing firm has to offer.
Interviewer   : What are your weaknesses?...
