Job Descriptions

I obtained a copy of my job description from my supervisor.   The position is a GS-6 Customer Service Representative.   Reading through the two descriptions there were many similarities.   The biggest differences where that my job description was seven pages long and the job title page was difficult to read.   Both provided enough information for an individual to have a understanding of what to expect in the position.
The job title page for my position was very difficult to read.   It was one complete page with signatures, dates, and laws referenced.   The job title page for the textbook position was clear and easy to read because it was listed horizontally.
The job statements for both positions are very clear and easily read.   They are both a paragraph long explaining exactly what to expect in the position.   Both job statements where sure to add a blurb stating and other duties as assigned to be sure they are covered if they missed something in the description.
The essential functions are also very similar between the two job descriptions.   The descriptions were separated by dashes or numbers for clarity.   My job description does also state these are your duties but you are not limited to these duties.
The job specification where not listed on my job description.   However, when this position was listed on the website there was a list of job specifications so not sure why they do not add it to the description management and staff has access to.
These two job descriptions are very similar.   I would have to say the biggest difference between the two is the amount of words used by my organization compared to the textbook.   The textbook job description was easier for me to read while my job description was difficult to navigate due to added information that was not relevant to what I was looking for.
