1. BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS

      1.1 Background
The department of Information Systems is a small, yet growing department under the faculty of Management and Commerce at the University of Fort Hare in East London. The department services approximately 1643 in East London and 72 in Alice. Courses are offered both to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The department has approached NU Perspective Solutions to develop to a Student Query System. The need for a new system is necessitated by the increase in student numbers from 2004. The system to be designed has to enable the department to manage enquiries from students relating to course registration, practical and tutorial groups and/or marks, test scope and marks, and any other query the student might have.

1.2. Business Opportunity

Due to increasing student numbers, the department is faced with a challenge of managing student queries.
