Introduction
Businesses like Fashion Café are one of the 25 worst business failures in history (25 Worst Business Failures in History, 2009).   While ideas like McDonald’s Arch Deluxe, hula burger and McPizza are a few flops that went down in flames. (McGrath) However, Hard Rock Café has managed to stay in business since opening its doors in 1971.  
Hard Rock Café is well known throughout the world because of its sustained usage of the 10 critical decisions of Operations Management; an area of management concerned with overseeing, designing, and redesigning business operations in the production of goods and/or services.
Service and Product Design.   In Hard Rock’s case, the food is the product.   Menus are constantly reviewed and food research is ongoing.   Quality surveys are done regularly.   If food scores aren’t a seven on a one to seven scale of quality, it’s a failure.   Their Chefs are changing the menu from classic American burgers and chicken wings to include higher-end items such as stuffed veal chops and lobster tails.  
Quality Management.   Quality management is an important factor as well in regard to the success of Hard Rock Café.   The employees have extensive or passionate knowledge in the music or rock-n-roll industry and have engaging personalities.   This allows for courteous service, a pleasant stay and most importantly, a returning customer.  
Process and Capacity Design.   The process and capacity design allow for efficient employee schedules and over 100,000 meals each day.   The company also added layouts and memorabilia to its place in order to capture more customers.
