Character Analysis
Even though George had to make hard decisions for not only himself but for Lennie too, he kept a great outlook for both of them. George showed so much concern for Lennie. He realizes how he's able to change and grow up from his mistakes towards how he's treated people in the past such as Lennie. While talking to Slim George tells how he once abused Lennie in the past for his own amusement. Realizing his mistakes he knew he was wrong, and how he had no justification to treat Lennie how he use to. George learned how wrong it is to take advantage of the weak. His beliefs from Lennie gave him reasons to want to keep progressing and to keep on believing in the future. They both give each other definition and comfort to improve.
George would go through so much depth for Lennie. He stayed loyal to him even though he had a childish mind and always gave them problems while at a work site. He held a great friendship with him, he was able to talk to him about anything. Their relationship was very complex throughout the novel, but George kept trying to hold on for the both of them. No matter what he would always try to make him happy in any way like getting Lennie the puppy. George was always the one sticking up for him because he knew he wasn't able to do it himself.

"He's my ... cousin. I told his old lady I'd take care of him" pg22. but it shows how Lennie is willing to take the burden off of George's shoulder when he's willing to leave and go live in the caves. They both care so much, but to me, George cares greatly for Lennie. More then anyone probably ever has. George is basically trying to teach Lennie the ways of life, so together they will...
