What role did social media play in the Egyptian revolution? Discuss

After 30 years of cruel and unfair power, Hosni Mubarak was deposed and the political system was changed by a 17 days peacefully revolution.
There are many factors led to this revolution. The primary reason is the regime and the Egyptian people’s thirst for democracy and legally elections. No one in Egypt is fooled by the elections that have taken place during Mubarak’s regime. Previous elections called “musical chairs” rotating the same people through government over and over again.
It is impossible to believe that Mubarak’s party maintained such complete control of the government for 30 years. The only way is so many of his party members remained in power for so long through forged election results and pervasive corruption. Further more people also fight to end corruption through Egyptian government. Bribes in everywhere if you want accomplish anything, to get any government document, permit, licence, paying a simple monthly bill can take hours and have to pay bribes even if you want to get your child into a school.
In addition the Mubarak regime has run a brutal police state. Tight internet controls, kidnappings, police beatings. There are many phrases explained this dark period such as “set behind the sun” referring to pervasive kidnappings by the police and “walk near the wall” referring to keep your head down and stay out of trouble to avoid being involved with the police. The situation in Egypt began with invitation to the day of rage against Mubarak regime on January 25th. No one expected an invitation to the day of rage from group on the Facebook page, not really organized called “we are all Khalid Said” can change everything in Egypt after suffering for 30 years.
Khalid said was an Egyptian youth who had been beaten to death by Mubarak police in Alexandria” the second big city” last summer after threating to expose corruption in one of the police station by recording video show one...
