Everyone needs to read, for it is from reading that we all gain knowledge and creativity. Today, people would rather watch television or movies instead of reading. Reading helps us to use our imagination and paint pictures with the words instead of having the pictures painted for us as it is done on a television.
Reading helps with one’s speaking ability by expanding one’s vocabulary because when one begins to read something that he is interested in, he begins to notice words that he might not have noticed before. When he actually starts reading and not just skimming over something he will learn a new word and begin to see the words everywhere.
Reading is an essential part of life everyday because one must know how to read in order to have a job. At nearly any job, one must be able to read whatever is required of him. If one doesn’t know how to read then one isn't able to enjoy newspapers, magazines, novels, and reference books. Reading is also important for shopping and paying bills. When planning a vacation, reading is important because one may need information about the trip and if one can’t read then they will not be able to plan the trip.
As a result of reading books over a period of time, a learning process is formed. There are many benefits that can be gained from reading books. This is even more of reason to get into the habit of reading books. Sharing books with a child is an active approach to life-long learning skills and to help ensure future success.
