Long Haul for Working Couples
In this tough time with our economy on the downside there are a number of problems to deal with on a regular basis. There are multiple firms doomed by lack of resources and capital to continue to operate as they did once before. These businesses are forced to fire employees that they would love to keep but if these measures aren’t executed then the whole business would crumple to the ground. In this article the topic of relationships being broke apart due to a lack of jobs in the area these couples live in causing them to separate and take on job opportunities in other areas and even states sometimes.
The recession is really hurting the families in which both adults in the household are working.   When one person gets laid off all the pressure is now shifted to the other which causes static in the relationship that was not there before. When one partner receives an offer in another state it’s almost a must to jump and take it because who knows when an opportunity like this will present itself again. These types of scenarios are popping up every day in our country and tough decisions such as long distance relationships and even break ups are becoming more prevalent. Compared to earlier times it is not a given that your spouse will follow you to another city just because you find another job. Your spouse’s job could be fine where it is at and there could be no opportunities for them where you’re going so it’s kind of an unfair situation for a lot of people these days.
This time of recession and economic failure is affecting the households and firms on all bases. The households are no longer consuming many goods or even substitutes which are causing the firms to go back to the drawing board and make drastic decisions to stay afloat. It’s tough on both sides but this is the type of things that happen when bad decisions are made on the national level.
