The story begins in Ms. Fritz’s Wacky classroom, the starting point for all of the Fritz’s adventurous field trips. This time, Arnold, who never really likes to go on field trips anyway, gets left behind. Or does he? The fun begins as children soon discover that Arnold is the field trip! He swallows the Magic School Bus along with his lunch. Children suddenly find themselves taking a bus ride deep into Arnold’s body. This is a special field trip on the Magic School Bus, which allows Ms. Fritz’s class to get a first-hand look at major parts of the brain and how they work. The class and Ms. Frits decide to broadcast what’s going on inside Arnold’s brain. The object of the trip is to help you locate the different parts of the brain, while learning a few fun-tastic facts along the way. So the Bus first stop is the frontal lobe. The frontal lobe is located behind the forehead, and its main function involved in speaking and muscle movement. The Magic Bus just kept driving in the brain, and didn’t dare to stop, until they get to Central Nervous System, which is the brain and Spinal cord.   Not far from there was Peripheral Nervous System. These are the sensory neurons that connect the central nervous system to the rest of the body. The bus drove up higher still there was the Medulla the base of the brainstem; that controls heartbeat and breathing. Molly asked about the Amygdala two Lima bean-sized neural cluster in the limbic system; linked to emotion. Ms. Fritz took them to the motor cortex that is located at the rear of the frontal lobes and control voluntary movements. They went on to the four types of Lobes. Occipital lobe is located at the back of the head. Reversing direction and moving forward, just above the ears, they found the temporal Lobe. At the top and to the rear the parietal lobe is located. Each of the four lobes carries out many functions. Ms. Fritz explained the two hemisphere sections. Motor Cortex Left hemisphere section controls the body’s right side....
