Welcome at your college! Check out these ten tips to survive your switch to college. Keeping these ten tips in mind will keep up your sanity and will help you through to the changes from high school to college.

Tip 1: The use of credit cards. Credit cards are both your friend and enemy. Credit cards can help you with buying the things you really need, like study materials. However, you have to control your expenditure. Make sure that you are not going to make unnecessary costs.
Tip 2: Get a job! This will help you with managing your money and you can plan your budget. Plus, it’s nice to know that you will have some savings.
Tip 3: In college you will need to buy your books. These are expensive but mind you, try to look for used books on the internet, they will save you a lot of money. But be sure that you will buy the right edition!
Tip 4: Don’t be lost. You have to know where different buildings on campus are. You can look it up via Google maps or just walkthrough with your friends. This way you can become aware of the shortcuts and that will decrease your chance of being late.
Tip 5: Get to know your roommate and others. Take time to learn who these people are. These are the people who are going through similar experiences and emotions. They are your main safety net.
Tip 6: Get organized. Compared to high school, college is a bit different. In high school, teachers will lead you through homework and test dates. College isn’t like high school. Teachers post everything, so you should be aware of that and pay attention to it.
Tip 7: Go to class!! Obvious right? But, skipping your class at 8 am can be tempting at time. Try to avoid that. Besides learning new information in class, you will also receive important information from your teacher about test dates, or handing in assignments etc.
