Common Faults and Fault Handling of Commonly Used Belt Conveyer

With the astonishing progress of national economy, serving as a connecting link between the preceding and the following machine, the belt conveyor has grown to become indispensable equipment in stone crushing line, sand production line and construction debris processing. The application of belt conveyor has greatly saved manpower and improved production efficiency. It features long transportation distance, high conveying capacity, low working assistance, convenient installation, low power consumption and low abrasion. Therefore, the smooth operation of belt conveyor can ensure high productivity of production line.

The common faults

1 Belt sipping

When the motor is switched on, the transmission drum begins to idle. As a result, the belt conveyor cannot start working. This is caused by lack of enough tensile force, bad adjustment of tightening device, over-long belts, heavy –load start and coal piling at the end of the belt.

2 Belt deviation

Transverse force may result into the above phenomenon. If materials are loaded on the lateral sides not at the center of the conveyor, transverse force may be produced. If the supporting roller and the axis of the rotary drum are not vertical to the center of the belt, the deviation will also happen. The disagreement of heights of the steel wires and the bad adjustment of tail roller and guide roller can lead to the consequence too. If the joint is installed obliquely or if the coal discharging rotary drum is not adjusted well, the bad result will occur.

3 The breakage of belt

Overlarge tension, insecure connector, low quality belt buckle, long use of belt and bad maintenance effect will result in the effect. The solution is to strain the tensioner, reduce the tensile force and timely change the belts and enhance the maintenance quality.

4 Abnormal sound of the reducer

The over-abrasion of bearing and wheel gear and the looseness of the bolts on the outside shell may lead to the result. The problem can...
