At present, the majority of China’s major aluminum plants use the rotary kiln to calcined the petroleum coke to produce aluminum electrolytic anode. Due to the characteristics of the rotary structure, the liner is easy to fall off and the operating rate is low, which restricts the production of carbon anode. Therefore, we should extend the service life of the liner of the rotary kiln to improve the operation rate of the equipment, which can save the materials and save the cost of repairs. It is very significantly to ensure the stable production.

The control system structure of the rotary kiln includes the AC drive motor whose capacity is 135 KW, the DC generator whose capacity is 110 KW, the DC motor whose capacity is 80 KW, the AC drive generator whose capacity is 10 KW. The unit total installed capacity is 341.8 kW, which composes the confused speed control system with five power distribution control panels. There are a lot of unit equipments. The working efficiency is low and the energy consumption is high. Day power consumption is 2916 KW/h. The noise is much and the maintenance of operation is very complex. In the design, the experts considered the operation of the rotary kiln with both modes which are the long-distance centralized operating room operation and frequency counter operation. The remote centralized operation is main, while the frequency counter operation is only used with debugging. The mode of operation is selected by the switch. The potentiometer is used to achieve the stepless speed. According to the conditions of the rotary kiln and the required load situation, we should set the inverter parameters.
